I'm Caleb Hopkins. I build and run a small network of independent websites, and Alaska Domain is where they all come together.
Why so many Alaska sites
Most of my sites are about Alaska because life here raises questions that generic advice doesn't answer well: how to plan moorage around some of the biggest tides in North America, how the Permanent Fund Dividend works, why a driveway heaves every spring, what an earthquake deductible means, or how to get through a dark winter. Each Alaska site takes one of those subjects and covers it properly.
Alongside them are a few sites on other things I find useful or fun: planning an African safari or a romantic trip, Florida's country life and taxes, avoiding surprise subscription charges, and dad jokes.
What Alaska Domain is
This site is a directory of my live websites. Each listing explains what the site covers and who it's for, with links to its most useful pages, so you can get to the right resource quickly. There are currently 15 sites:

How I build the sites
- One topic per site. Each site covers a single subject in depth instead of trying to cover everything.
- Plain language first. Pages explain how things work and include the details that matter in Alaska.
- Fast, lightweight pages. Most of my sites are static pages served from Cloudflare's network, so they load quickly on any device.
- Clear structure. Descriptive titles, clean URLs, sitemaps and structured data help both readers and search engines find what they need.
Independent by design
My guide sites are educational and independent. AK Claims isn't an insurer, adjuster or law firm, Finance North isn't a financial institution or advisory firm, TaxPro Florida isn't a tax preparer or CPA firm, AK Coating doesn't sell or install products, and Anchorage Asphalt Paving isn't a paving company. When a decision depends on your policy, money, property or project, the guides point you to the right agency or professional.
What's next
Several new sites are in the works. They'll be added to this portfolio as soon as they go live.
